PATAPAA DEFENDS HIS SONGS

A few weeks ago, Ghana was moved by a new hit song by the famous Afro Reggae Dancehall singer, Stonebwoy.

The song with the title “Putuu” has a lot of meaningless lyrics like Sampataama putuu, Sampataama gb3z33. Or maybe they might have as meaning but no one has been able to interpret it neither has the singer given out the meanings of those lyrics. But at the end of the song, he said we are praying, meaning the words he was saying are tongues which obviously isn’t.

People then began saying these kind of songs are done by Patapaa, the One Corner hitmaker. This was because most of his songs have meaningless lyrics like that of the “Putuu” by Stonebwoy. Not long after that, Patapaa also released a new song which was in a form of a reply to Stonebwoy’s Putuu. He said in his song that, “I brought it and they said it’s not good but now they’re the ones doing it…”

On the Driveway show on Rainbow Fm 87.5 yesterday, Patapaa explained that when he released his songs including the One Corner hit song, which came with its own One Corner Crazy dance, people said that his songs are meaningless, useless, and in fact, foolish.

Listening carefully to his reply song to Stonebwoy’s Putuu, you will hear a part that the lyrics were like “Yali, Gyimi”. He explained that part to rainbow Fm that, if people say his songs are foolish and useless, then Stonebwoy’s own too is foolish and useless because they are all in the same soup, therefore they are all sick and fools as Yali and Gyimi means in the Akan language.
