Another serious fire outbreak was reported yesterday at the Ghana Commercial Branch in Katamanto, Accra.
The fire started yesterday, (Saturday, November 28, 2020) in the morning around 8:00 am. According to a witness who was there in the morning, she saw smoke coming out of the building and approached the security guard on duty and informed him but the guard told her they are spraying the offices.
The fire which started in the morning on the first floor of the 7/8 story-building was not attended to by the fire service as at the time the footage we received was recorded because they were stuck in a serious traffic jam until the police later barricaded the road leading to the scene. The office is in a 7/8 story building near the Kantamanto market, one of the busiest markets in the city of Accra.
According to a voice in the background of the video, the bank was operating at that hour, but it is not known if workers and customers were able to vacate the building before the fire got serious.
